Study on Envast at the Cardiology Center in Lucerne
The Swiss OPTIMISER registry suggests: #DotheDropZone with #enVast in acute myocardial infarction (#AMI) with a high thrombotic burden (#LTB).
Conclusion from the initial experience of the Swiss OPTIMISER registry: EnVast™ with a modified vacuum-assisted stent extraction technique (SAVE) appears to be safe and efficient, capable of achieving a high rate of successful reperfusion in highly thrombotic lesions.
Authors: Yuan Zhi, Mehdi Madanchi, Giacomo Maria Cioffi, Julian Brunner, Leah Stutz, Eleonora Gnan, Varis Gjergjizi, Adrian Attinger-Toller, Florim Cuculi, and Matthias Bossard.
Study Highlights:
• The study indicates that the use of EnVast in AMI with LTB appears safe, with a low risk of thrombotic embolism.
• After placement, 87% of cases achieved immediate repair with TIMI 3 flow.
• The authors suggest that the use of EnVast in LTB cases could lead to positive long-term outcomes with low target lesion failure rates, and that EnVast shows promise in restoring blood flow in saphenous vein graft thrombotic lesions.
• Furthermore, the authors discuss that the use of EnVast with the SAVE technique has the potential to address the limitations of conventional thrombectomy, reducing risks such as thrombus dislodgment and strokes.
• The authors also propose that improved thrombus removal with EnVast could facilitate optimal stent placement (e.g., reducing the risk of stent under-expansion or geographic miss), which in turn could improve long-term outcomes for the patient.
Congratulations and thank you to the authors for supporting the use of EnVast™, offering hope for better outcomes in AMI LTB!
